We strive to live out the example that Jesus set for us, in loving those that are around us. One way in doing this is through service and mission.

We are involved with various missions around Denver and Boulder; including Denver Urban Matters (DenUM) and The Boulder Shelter for the Homeless.
We also take Missions Trip every summer. Come and join us!

May 2018

30 Hour Famine: 8pm Friday, May 4 - 7 pm Saturday, May 5.

We’re joining with others around the country who will be participating in World Vision’s 30 Hour Famine.

It’s sort of like a walk-a-thon, except we pledge to go without food (fast) for a certain number of hours. High School students will fast for 30 hours, Middle School students will fast 24 hours. You can ask your friends and family to sponsor you per hour, or you can ask for a flat donation. For those who need service hours, every $70 you raise will count as one hour of service. We fast in order to stand in solidarity with children who don’t have enough to eat, to raise awareness for global child hunger, and to personally experience what it’s like to be hungry.

I (Mike) have done the 30 Hour Famine at least 10 times, always with great results. We’ll always have water and juice available, and wholesome food in the case that someone really needs it. We’ll sleep at BUMC on Friday night. On Saturday, we’ll participate in service projects. At the end of the day on Saturday, we’ll celebrate with a fast-breaking meal. We have materials to help you raise funds. Please contact Mike with any questions and to sign up!

                 All 6th-12th grade welcome.
