Synopsis:
Jonah, the prophet of Israel sends and receives telegraphs to and from the Living God on behalf of the people, and all is fine, until the Lord tells him to go to that “dirty, rotten, flea-bitten foreign city called Nineveh” and preach against it! So, wouldn’t ya know it, instead of boarding the east-bound train to Nineveh, Jonah hops a west-bound stage to Tarshish.

Speaking Parts:
All speaking parts will be given by auditions. Children will be given a specific audition part to read. They will not be reading for the part they would like to play. On the form that is attached to the audition sheet they may specify what part they would like to play, but are not guaranteed that part. Sometimes it’s hard for children to choose an appropriate part for them and we need to look at the entire cast to see what works best. If you know you are going to be missing some rehearsals you may guide your child to choose a speaking part that is not so demanding. Remember that you do not have to audition for a speaking part to be in the musical. You may just be part of the fun by singing and dancing! Please reinforce to your child that God is the audience. We are not performing for the community because they are also participants in the worship we are leading. A chorus member is just as important as a person who has a microphone. “There are no stars, only reflections of His Light.”
